James Workman King House
Description
The James Workman King House is a 2-storey brick house constructed in 1882 in the Italianate style. The home’s historical value lies in its association with James Workman King, the eldest son of Col. James King after whom the village was named. J.W. King was a merchant, salesman, bookkeeper and gentleman. He lived at the property until his death in 1914. From 1942 to 1953, the building was the Healey and Crawford Funeral Home. From 1956 to 1996, it was the home and medical practice of Dr. Vytas Ablenas.
