Solomon Fox House
Description
The Solomon Fox House is a 2½-storey house constructed in 1899 in the Queen Anne academic style. The building’s historical value lies in its association with Solomon Fox who was a successful farmer in the region from 1871 until 1891. He was forced to retire due to a stroke which left him partly paralyzed. Solomon Fox became a highly respected citizen of Ruthven and was an active member of the Methodist Church and a veteran of the Beaver Lodge, I.O.O.F. The house is one of the oldest homes in Ruthven.
